Riverside House

Riverside House is a five bedroom house that is a five minute walk from the river. We feel very lucky to have this place which is so well located for beautiful walks and right on the doorstep of a cosmopolitan high street too.

Since we opened this service and people moved in, Lower Richmond Road and our surrounding roads have started to become part of this community we have.

Our service users greet and are greeted by local people. Our services users can access local businesses by themselves where they are welcomed and have a lovely rapport with the people working there.

Riverside House is a mixed gender service that supports people with moderate to severe learning disabilities and autism. The age range is from early twenties up to forty. There is a small range of abilities in this service, and a couple of our service users here access the community by themselves at times.

Communal living and activities are an important feature at Riverside House, and the people that live here have formed strong bonds with each other. These connections provide them with meaning and another sense of family in addition to their own natural networks.

We support our people here to build independence and they are also able to enjoy an excellent quality of life because of the standard of accomodation and what is available in the immediate area. We are proud of how our people here have built lives for themselves.
